Chili is zest personified, embodying the heat of the sun itself.

This shaded red is rather multicultural when it comes to its inspiration and origin. The classic chili pepper has been one of the oldest cultivated crops, starting in Mexico 6,000 years ago. Its hot flavor and iconic colors soon became a staple in many foods around the world.

A similar color was named “Spanish” red in 2005 for the popular color dictionary while “Turkey” red was known a widely used dye in the 18th and 19th century. The dyeing process is believed to have started with the root of the Rubia plant in either Turkey or India.
